    • Patricia "Patty" Victoria Brest, 69, of The Grove in New Wilmington, died peacefully at The Grove on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020.

She was born in New Castle on Feb. 28, 1951, to L. Stanley Brest and Esther McQuiston Brest.

She grew up on a dairy farm in North Beaver Township and enjoyed being a "farmer's daughter."

She was employed at Lark Enterprises (Sheltered Workshop) in New Castle for more than 40 years. She loved her job and her Lark Enterprise family and friends.

She especially loved her niece, Elaine. "Her eyes lit up when spending time with Elaine."

She loved coloring, working with liquid embroidery and making latch hook rugs.

She regularly watched the food channel, where she knew all the characters by name and was passionate about the food competitions.

She enjoyed vacationing with her aunts, whom she lovingly called "the girls." Patty had a great memory and always remembered people's names and birthdays.

Patty loved everyone and everyone loved Patty. Her smile lit up a room.

She was a member of the Moravia Presbyterian Church in Wampum. In addition, she attended both the Kings Chapel United Methodist Church (New Castle) and The Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church (Village of Leesburg). She loved her church family.

Patty lived a full life, despite her challenges with Down's Syndrome, and at the end of her life, Alzheimer's.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy "Dotty" B. (Thomas G.) Lewis of Volant; and niece, Elaine L. Lewis of Lehi, Utah.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Martha E. Brest; special aunts, Lenora and Aletha McQuiston and several other aunts and uncles.

Funeral services for family and friends will be held privately at Smith Funeral Home, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, Pa. 16156 on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020. The Rev. Jeffery Hurst, pastor of the Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

Family request masks and social distancing protocols be observed.
Interment will follow at Westfield Cemetery, Mount Jackson.
