- Merlin “Merle” K. McQuistion, 82, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Friday, January 10, 2025. Honoring his wishes cremation rites have been accorded with burial at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is honored to serve the family of Merle McQuistion during this difficult time.
Merle was born August 13, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Charles and Vinetta (Meggers) McQuistion. He was a graduate of Clinton High School.
Merle was an Electrician; working many years at the Clinton ADM Plant and later he worked out of Decatur, Illinois for the IBEW.
Merle was a member of the Moose Club in Clinton. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He was always up for a game of cards and loved to socialize with family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed painting motorcycles.
Merle is survived by his three daughters - Teresa (Jim) Hugunin of Camanche, Tami McQuistion of Camanche and Tobie (Don) McLuckie of Clinton; 8 grandchildren - Jennifer (Joshua) Delk of Camanche, Brian (Jamie) Hugunin of Fulton, Kellie (Brad) Hugunin of Fulton, Collin (Alaina) Puckett of Aurora, IL., Shelby (Tyler) Bruggenwirth of Altamonte Springs, FL., Macy Pucket of Tampa FL, Kyle (Payton) McLuckie of Clinton, and Nate McLuckie of Pheonix, AZ., with 5 great-grandchildren - Natalie, Carter, Miles, Everett and Heidie; two brothers - Nicholas (Traci) McQuistion of Fulton and Marvin (Vicki) McQuistion of Clinton; with several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his beloved fur-baby – Chelsea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother – Vern and two sisters – Berniece and Frances.
