- Alberta Y. Rupert-Murphy, 93, of New Castle passed away the morning of May 13, 2021, at her residence.
Born on Dec. 6, 1927 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Margaret E. McQuiston Benson.
Alberta was preceded in death by her four husbands, Merle Bales, Ed Murphy, Dom Poalise and William Rupert.
Alberta was the previous owner of the Oasis Bar.
She was a member of Life Changing Ministries, and faithfully read her Bible daily.
In the early years, Alberta enjoyed traveling. She loved to cook and was known for her many wonderful recipes.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Alberta's greatest joy was the time she spent with all of her family.
Alberta is survived by her children, Nancy and Harold Slagle, Bonnie and Ed Lyman, Cindy Reed, the Rev. William Rupert and his wife, Michelle, Wanda Shawley, and Brenda and Michael Piccolo; one brother, John Benson; one sister, Mary Anderson; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Alberta was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Benson; two sisters, Doris Hendrickson and Betty Georgaris; two grandsons, Michael Piccolo and Billy McKinney; and two great-grandsons, Brayden W. Rupert and Marquel Bondi.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Life Changing Ministries Church, 2929 Mercer Road.
A service will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at the church. Alberta's son, the Rev. William Rupert, will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
