      Bernice Louise Ruick McQuistion

      FRAZEYSBURG: Bernice Louise (Ruick) McQuistion, 77, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Friday afternoon, February 1, 2013 at Mr. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

      Born June 30, 1935 in Johnstown, Ohio she was the daughter of the late John Albert and Gladys Mary (Edelblute) Ruick and was a 1955 graduate of Hartford High School in Croton, Ohio. She was a homemaker and retired from Newark Health Care Center as a nursing assistant. Mrs. McQuistion was a Charter member of the Fallsburg Homemakers and was a past president of the organization. The Licking County Homemakers Council presented her a pin for being a Charter Member. Over the years she served as a 4-H leader and a Girl Scout leader. She loved her family and enjoyed animals, flowers, reading, camping, playing cards and gardening. Bernice spent her life in the Licking and Coshocton County area with her family, who will miss her greatly.

      Surviving are three sons, Richard (Jean) Boorn of Newark, Ohio, Charles Boorn and Steve Boorn both of Frazeysburg; two daughters, Deborah (Mark) Stevens of Newark and Beverly Loughman of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, Daniel Tavaniello, Shannon Dearman, Kia (Whiteside) Keeling, Alissa Whiteside, Justin Whiteside, Victor Cross, Jr., Aimee Cross, Ashley Cross, Mary Mathis, Jennifer Bressing, Michaella Boorn and Dylan Boorn; seven great grandchildren, Nicholas, Logan, Jalen, Aiden, Liam, Jamison, and Landon; cousins Betty (Woolard) Dispennette, Lisa McNichols and Donald Clem and her best friend Elnora (Ray) Roberts of Croton.

      In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell McQuistion whom she married March 28, 1987 and who died December 2, 2010; an uncle, Charles "Buddy" Ruick; her mother in-law, Opal Huff McQuistion Hill and many other relatives.

      There will be no calling hours. A private burial service will be held at a later date at Robinson Cemetery.

      Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter, 544 Dog Leg Road, Heath, Ohio 54056.

      The family is being assisted by the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home.

      FRAZEYSBURG: Russell Junior McQuistion, 81, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, died Thursday morning, December 2, 2010 at his home.
      Born November 26, 1929 in Mifflin Township of Wyandot County, he was the son of the late Russell H. and Opal Marie (Huff) McQuistion. Mr. McQuistion was a self-employed contractor and was a fur trader and seller. He was a member of the Ohio State Trappers Association and the Northwestern Fur Traders Association. He was an avid trapper, hunter and fisherman, but his greatest enjoyment was being with his family.
      Surviving is his wife, Bernice (Ruick) McQuistion whom he married March 28, 1987; three sons, Junior Ray "Jay" (Jamie) McQuistion of Dresden, Ohio, James (Brenda) McQuistion of Atlanta, Georgia, and Gary (Joyce) McQuistion of Round Lake, Illinois; three daughters, Teri Jones of Atlanta, Opal Kramer of Newark, Ohio, and Sherry (Eddie) Davis of Hanover, Ohio; three step sons, Richard (Jean) Boorn of Newark, Charles Boorn and Steven Boorn both of Frazeysburg; two step daughters, Deborah (Mark) Stevens of Newark and Beverly Loughman of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two sisters, Marie Woosley of Minnesota and Linda (Richard) Warnick of Arizona; eleven grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
      In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Ann McQuistion; five brothers; and two sisters.
      There will be no calling hours.
      A "celebration of life" will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Christ United Methodist Church, 10 North Cedar Street, Newark, Ohio.
