      A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 18, 2011 at, Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church.
      Katherine Hassell Edge of Nokomis, FL, formerly of Raleigh, NC, died peacefully on November 25, 2011.
      Katherine was born in Jamestown, North Carolina on March 30, 1914. She was the daughter of Rufus Hassell and Nan McCuiston Hassell. Katherine was a loving mother and grandmother. She never complained about any hard times she might have had - though she could be very critical of someone else's housekeeping! She retired as an employee of the state of North Carolina and was a very serious fan of the North Carolina State Wolfpack basketball team.
      Katherine is survived by her son, Paul J. Williams, Jr. (Marion) of Aynor, SC, her daughter, Phyllis Greene of Nokomis, FL, grandsons Douglas Greene (Donna) and Todd Greene (Helen) of Sarasota, FL and Daniel Williams (Kara) of Hill AFB, UT, and great grandchildren Kendra, A.J., Travis, Kayleen, and Andrew.
      A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 18, 2011 at, Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church.
