Marcalene “Mart” McCuistion was born on August 13, 1938, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to Roy Edward and Hazel E. (Keel) Sisney. She departed this life on Monday, January 4, 2021, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years, 4 months, and 22 days.
At an early age, Mart gave her life to the Lord and was baptized at the Lone Star Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. Living near Broken Arrow while growing up, she attended school in the Coweta area. Mart went on to work for the Zebco Brands Company for over 13 years. The company made fishing tackle and outdoor gear. On November 9, 1972, Marcalene and Thidell R. McCusition were united in marriage. The two of them met while working at Zebco. Their family lived in Coweta for some time, before moving to Locust Grove, Oklahoma, where they spent 20 years raising their young family. Thid preceded Mart in death on February 21, 2013. They had been married for over 42 years.
Mart had also worked for, and later retired from, the Atkins Health Food Store in Tulsa. Over the years, she enjoyed taking care of animals that the family raised. She loved fishing and hunting, and just being outdoors. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all that knew her.
Mart is survived by: 4 daughters: Carol Hanna and husband Johnny of Rose, Oklahoma, Janet Benge and husband Gary of Salina, Oklahoma, Donna Fox and husband Ron of Chouteau, Oklahoma, and Sandra Simpson and husband Billy of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; 8 Grandchildren: Kevin Benge and wife Theresa of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Crystal Pritchett and husband Richard of Rose, Oklahoma, Joe Simpson and wife Kyla of Leach, Oklahoma, Rachel Pickett and husband Carl of Wagoner, Anthony Simpson and wife Kelly of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Cole Benge and wife Candace of Adair, Oklahoma, Valerie Wolf and husband Cody of Rose, Oklahoma, and Tori Fox-Marlin and husband Adam of Claremore, Oklahoma; 11 great grandchildren; 1 brother: Carl Sisney and wife Genevieve of Coweta, Oklahoma, and 1 sister: Kathy Pride and husband Jerry of Coweta, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews including: Rick Pride and Eric Pride; other relatives and a host of friends.
Mart was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; 1 daughter: Patricia Neel; 1 brother: Johnny Sisney; and 2 sisters: Joyce Sisney and Verna West.
Funeral services were held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Reverend Rick Condit officiated. Interment followed at the Rose Cemetery in Rose, Oklahoma. Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Thidell R. McCuistion

Thidell Roosevelt McCuistion was born November 6, 1932, in Optimus, Arkansas, to Cliford Alton and Susie Jane (Tipton) McCuistion. He departed this life on Thursday, February 21, 2013, in Salina, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years, 3 months, and 15 days.
Thid lived most of his life in the Locust Grove area and had attended school at Iron Post. He worked as a dairy farmer for several years. He then began work at ZEBCO in Tulsa. He retired from there as a Shipping Foreman after 17 years of service.
Thid and the former Marcalene Sisney were united in marriage on November 9, 1972. He was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved working with his hound dogs and taking his wife with him to hunt coon.

Funeral services were held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Locust Grove Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Rick Condit and Reverend Bob Bewley officiated.
Interment followed at the Rose Cemetery in Rose, Oklahoma. Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
