      Simon McCuiston

      Simon McCuiston, age 84, of Duck Hill, a retired farmer died Monday, January 23 at the Charlie Hankins residence at Duck Hill after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Anderson & Belle McCuiston and was married to the late Dovie Lee Honey.

      He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Luvina James and Mrs. Josie Hankins, both of Duck Hill and Mrs. Ludell McCain of Gary, Indiana; one son, Anderson McCuiston of Chicago; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, Mr. McCuiston was a member of Center A.M.E. Church and a World War I veteran.

      Funeral services were held at Center Hill A.M.E. Church, Sunday, January 29 at 1:00 P.M. with Elder T. J. Jiles officiating. Burial was in the Church Cemetery with Roberts and Sons Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

      Pallbearers were Cleve James, Jr., Norman James, Earl Wayne James, Robert Coleman, Walter Earl McCuiston, and Charlie Hankins, Jr.
