Hugh McQuiston was born in 1849 in Ohio.⁷ He appeared in the census on 9 June 1860 in Brady Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.⁷ He appeared in the census on 26 July 1870 in Bingham, Clinton County, Michigan.¹⁹ On 26 July 1870 Hugh was a worker on the family farm in Bingham, Clinton County, Michigan.¹⁹ He died in 1903. He was buried in Ford Cemetery, Elsie, Gratiot County, Michigan. Hugh has reference number 2845(11x-465).

Hugh McQuiston and Emeline Burch were married. Emeline Burch was born in 1858. She died in 1948. She was buried in Ford Cemetery, Elsie, Gratiot County, Michigan.
