John McQuistan was born on 11 March 1843 in Caradale, parish of Campbeltown, County of Argyllshire, Scotland.^6,8 He was christened on 19 May 1844 in Killean and Kilchenzie, Argyll, Scotland.⁴ He immigrated in 1862.⁸ John was naturalized in 1867.⁸ On 9 August 1870 he was a farm worker in Caladonia, Boone County, Illinois.⁹ He appeared in the census on 1 March 1920 in Morton Township, Knox County, Nebraska.⁸ John died in 1925 in Bloomfield, Nebraska.^6,10 He has reference number RM 4826 - GKM 1437/1435 - LBM 4ii-17.
