- Samuels parents were James Richard McQuisten and Rebecca Oiler. Rebecca's brother, Henry Oiler, is the father of Mary Oiler. Mary Oiler, Rebecca's niece, married a Mr. Hill and they are the parents of Lucretia J. Hill, Rebecca's grandniece. Lucretia J. Hill married Samuel McQuisten. Lucretia Jane Hill and Samuel McQuisten were second cousins.
