    • Warnock, Roberta 7/26/1932 - 7/12/2018 Richland Roberta Lou Warnock of Richland, Michigan passed away peacefully on July 12 at age 85 after a brief stay at Rose Arbor Hospice. She was born July 26, 1932, on her family farm in Converse, Indiana. She attended Purdue University and earned a bachelor's degree in Education and later a master's degree in Biology. She began her teaching career at Portage Central Schools and taught Junior High math and science and High School biology for the next 26 years. She retired from teaching in 1993. She was active at First Presbyterian Church in Kalamazoo, MI where she has been an active member for the last 35 years serving as Congregational Deacon and Joint Deacon. She taught High School Bible class, volunteered at Loaves and Fishes, Rickman house, and worked in the Free Medical Clinic for 9 years. She is remembered for her love of family and by her strength and positive attitude about life. She loved visits from the grandchildren and was interested in all they were involved in including sports, dance, education, and careers. She loved walks in the woods and could identify all flora and fauna. She was an avid sports fan, especially baseball - the Tigers and Cubs. She loved to travel and learning about other places and people. She enjoyed vacations with her brother at the Jersey Shore and with family at Lake Michigan. Roberta was married for 29 years to Thomas R. Pyke (deceased), who is the father of her children. She is survived by son Neil (Patricia) Pyke, Daughters Lynn (Jim) DeWitt, Ann (Todd) Mora. Grandchildren Lauryn Pyke (Chad Barker), Kori Pyke, Tara DeWitt (Dario Diovisalvi), Scott (Lisa) Vander Meulen, Taylor Vander Meulen, Riley Dewitt, Celeste Mora (Eddie Rios), Spenser Mora, Dillon Mora and great-grandchildren Cayden and Danika Barker and Fox DeWitt Diovisalvi. She is also survived by her brother Verlin Warnock and nieces Elaine Major and Ginny (Chuck) Quick. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 321 W. South Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan. The memorial service will begin at 11 am with a lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo, or Hospice of West Michigan.
