      Delbert Leon McConnell, 64, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died March 1, 2002 at his home. He was born January 28, 1938 at Japton, Arkansas, the son of John Henry and Ica Lola McChristian McConnell. He was employed by Campbell Soup Company for 19 years and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was known to many as "Del Mack" through his country music band that played numerous benefit shows to help others. He enjoyed wildlife, gardening and especially his grandchildren. He touched the life of everyone he met.
      Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Hazel Rogers McConnell of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Michele McConnell of Farmington, Arkansas; one grandson, Craig McConnell of Farmington, Arkansas and one granddaughter, Miss Sarah McConnell of Farmington.
      Graveside services were held March 4, at the Groscloss (Grose) Cemetery near Japton with Allen Tackett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
