      SAEGERTOWN — Bernetta May McQuiston, 87, formerly of Circle East, Meadville, and a current resident of Crawford County Care Center, died there Monday, May 23, 2011, following a period of declining health.

      She was born in Erie on May 1, 1924, a daughter of Michael and Bernetta Bower Prozan. She married Hal A. McQuiston in Erie on Aug. 10, 1946, and he preceded her in death Jan. 25, 1978.

      Bernetta was a 1941 graduate of Mercyhurst High School, Erie, and attended Mercyhurst College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and ITT Technical Institute. She was owner and operator of Main Street Antiques, Saegertown.

      She was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the American Bridge Club.

      Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Moosmann and her husband, Robert, of Meadville, Linda Gonzalez and her husband, Mark, of Saegertown, Bonnie Miller and her husband, Howard, of Cochranton, and Debby Satterlee of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Mike and Dan Satterlee, Matt, Amanda and Amy Gonzalez, Jared and Amy Moosmann, and Luke and Susan Miller; three sisters, Jeanette Edinger of Erie, Gail Hart and her husband, Vincent, of Houston, Texas, and Virginia Wellman of Pittsburgh; three brothers, Michael Prozan and his wife, Sally, of Erie, Douglas Prozan and his wife, Gretchen, of Erie, and Bobby Prozan and his wife, Diane, of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.

      In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Prozan.

      Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a memorial service will follow at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Douglas Messerall, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.
