      Bonnie McCuistion Furrow

      Bonnie Furrow of Sweetwater, died Monday, Sept.21, at home with family and friends by her side. Her commitment and service to the health and welfare of the community and surrounding area were evidenced by her dedication to her life's work through the Sweetwater Hospital Association(SHA), Sweetwater Hospital Home Health Program, Wood Presbyterian Home/Wood Village, Monroe County Maternity Center, and Monroe Chapter of American Cancer Society. In 1946 she began an illustrious career with SHA as a registered nurse, was promoted to Director of Nurses, a position she held for 27 years,and completed her work in administration the last 34 years. Her compassionateservice was driven by her unwavering Christian faith nurtured through herchurch home, First Presbyterian Church of Sweetwater.
      She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, J.H. (Fuzz) Furrow; parents, Caleb J. McCuistion and Sara Holloway McCuistionand four siblings.
      Survivors include: daughter-Nancy Furrow Leigh,Tuscaloosa, Ala.;
      Son-Sam J. Furrow (Ann), Knoxville;
      Grandchildren-Lee Ann Furrow Tolsma (John), of Knoxville; Jay Furrow, Los Angeles; Matt Leigh, Birmingham; Katie Leigh,Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and
      Three great-grandchildren.
      The family extends sincere thanks and appreciation to the members of the Sweetwater Hospital Association and SHA Home Health Program, as well as special friends, Luverne Davis and Debbie Shell, for their exceptional care and compassion.
      A service to celebrate the life of Bonnie Furrow will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, 601 Church Street, Sweetwater, with the Rev. Ted Baker officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Interment will be 2 p.m., Thursday at Spring City Cemetery, Spring City, Tenn. Memorial contributions may be made to theFirst Presbyterian Church of Sweetwater or the Bonnie Furrow Education Fund of the Sweetwater Hospital Association, 304 Wright St. Sweetwater, TN 37874. Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, in charge of the local arrangements.
