      GREENSBORO — Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Friesland McCuiston, 77, of Greensboro died peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 14, 2009.
      A celebration of Dot's life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at her beloved Rehobeth United Methodist Church.
      Dot was born August 23, 1931 in Greensboro to Violet and Tay Friesland. She was a loyal member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church where she helped to start the Rehobeth Preschool and then served as a teacher and the director for twenty-three years. She sang in the choir and was active in church circles as well as the Stephens Ministry. When not at church, Dot was spending time with friends and family shopping and going to the beach.
      Dorothy is survived by her husband Bill whom she has been married to for fifty-four years; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Dennis Miller of Climax and Suzanne and Steve Butterfield of Manassas, VA; her treasured grandchildren, Brandon Miller of Climax, Keri Butterfield, and Kim Butterfield both of Manassas, VA; along with her sisters, Shirley Carson and Barbara Kallam both of Greensboro.
      The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening June 16, 2009 at George Brothers Funeral Service.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rehobeth United Methodist Church Pre-school, Rehobeth Church Road, Greensboro, NC 27406 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, N.C. 27405.
