      Obituary

      Thaxton L. "Lindy" "Mac" McCuiston, 83, of Winston-Salem, died Sunday (9/26) at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Born in Forsyth County, he worked with Carolane Propane Gas Service for several years and served in the United States Navy. Mr. McCuiston was an active member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where he a Mentor for the R.A.

      He was preceded in death by his parents James and Alma (Peoples) McCuiston and his first wife Margaret Brown McCuiston. Surviving family includes his wife Patricia Martin McCuiston of Winston-Salem; sister Elnora O'Briant of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

      A funeral service, celebrating his life, will be conducted on Wednesday (9/29) 2:00 PM at the Pleasant View Baptist Church, 1206 Pleasant View Drive, Winston-Salem 27105 (336-787-4880), with Pastor David Harlan officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown with military honors. Family and friends will visit on Tuesday (today) from 6:00 to 8:00 Pm at the Vogler Funeral Home, Reynolda Chapel, a Dignity Memorial Provider, 2951 Reynolda Road (336-722-6106).

      The family prefers, if you wish, flowers, or memorial contributions to the Pleasant View Baptist Church or Hospice, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem 27103. They wish to sincerely thank the management and staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, and Touch by an Angel for their care and support for the entire McCuiston Family.
