    • Kenneth C. Penny, 74, of Stet, MO, died at 7:25 a.m., on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at his home.
      Kenneth was born June 25, 1935 in Stet to Charles and Catherine Fern (Stubblefield) Penny. He married Leva Fern (Cain) McGinnis of Elkhorn, MO on August 14, 1960, she survives of the home.
      Additional survivors include three sons and three daughters-in-law, Johnny and Vickie McGinnis of Hardin, MO; Dwayne and Marsha Penny of Stet and Stephen and Jami Penny of Hardin; one daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Darrell Flick of Carrollton, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Norman Calvert of Laurie, MO; eight grandchildren, Jeremy McGinnis, Julie McClure, Derek Flick, Kayla Flick, Addison Penny, Carson Penny, Mary Penny and Emma Penny; five great-grandchildren, Kinley McClure, Kottin McClure, Lindsey Clemens, Kassie McGinnis, Kaden McGinnis; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
      In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one infant sister, Helen Ann.
      Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved all of his family. He was a lifelong farmer in the Stet community. He graduated from Stet High School in 1953. He was instrumental in helping start the Stet Fire Department. He was an original member of the Stet Young Farmers and Honorary Chapter Farmer of Stet FFA. He was also a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau. He was of the Christian Faith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
      The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Hospice.

      Funeral services will be Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 1:30 p.m., at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be at Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond where military honors will be conducted by the Richmond VFW Post # 4398 and Richmond American Legion Post # 237. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
