- Mary Sue (Brewer) McQuiston, 84, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at her home in Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be held at Breshears Memorial Chapel in Brunswick, MO on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. Pastor Dan Newburg will officiate the service. Visitation will precede the service on Thursday from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery in Brunswick, MO.
Mary was born on January 28, 1936 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Lonnie and Maggie (Overholt) Brewer. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1954 and later attended Johnson County Community College. Mary married Harold McQuiston in Shawnee Mission, KS in 1973.
Mary was a manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), a proof operator and bank teller at United Kansas Bank, and gained lifelong friends in the realty business. She enjoyed traveling the world, dancing, going to the movies, and shopping. Mary was a member of Westbrookâs Church in Overland Park, KS.
Mary is survived by two children, Lonnie Henderson of Overland Park, KS and Tyna McLaughlin and her husband JR of Kansas City, KS; one sister, Donna Duzan of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren, Krystal Morgan and her husband Dennis of Basehor, KS, Gary Seifert of Kansas City, KS, and Natasha Zarda and her husband John of Basehor, KS; four great-grandchildren, Blake Ewing, Nathan Morgan, Trinity Seifert, and Cash Zarda; and one daughter-in-law, Debra Price of Eudora, KS. Mary is also survived by the father of her children, Herbert Henderson.
She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, Harold, and her son, Herbert Allen Henderson.
Pallbearers will be Cody Henning, JR McLaughlin, Dennis Morgan, Nathan Morgan, Gary Seifert, and John Zarda.
