      Gladys Jean Thompson, 88, of Wampum passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver.
      A lifelong Wampum resident, Jean was born February 27, 1931 to the late Lester Clare “Happy” and Florence A. (Shearer) McQuiston. She was married to William E. Thompson who died September 19, 2009.
      Jean graduated from Wampum HIgh School in 1949. She retired from Medusa Cement Company in 1990 following over 32 years in the payroll/insurance department. She was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church and attended the Wampum Presbyterian Church. For many years, Jean was a devoted Girl Scout Leader in Wampum.
      Survivors include two grandchildren, Kelly Stiles of Warrenton, Oregon; Kevin (Kim) Stiles of Sarver, PA; son in law, Dennis (Amy) Stiles of Cranberry Twp.; three sister in laws, Joyce (Cliff) Herron of North Sewickley Twp., Donna McQuiston of Florida, Jean McQuiston of Wampum; and two great grandchildren, Cecelia Ann and Caleb William Stiles.
      She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Stiles on April 1, 2004 and a brother, Chester McQuiston.
      Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 am with Rev. Elizabeth Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
