      W.C. Skaggs and son, William, returned Sunday from Arkansas, where they attended the funeral of the former's brother, Clinton Skaggs, who died last week after a lingering illness.
      Clinton Skaggs was buried last Friday beside his wife, Lily, who had preceded him more than twenty years. He is survived by one daughter, Miss Verland Skaggs, 23 years old; and his father, Freeman Skaggs, who makes his home with a daughter, Mrs. Everett Clark, at Hindsville Valley; a brother, W.C. Skaggs of Idabel, Okla.; Erwin Skaggs of Broken Arrow, Okla; Corley Skaggs, of Huntsville, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Everett Clark, of Hindsville.
      Funeral services were held at the Baptist church at Huntsville, with Rev. Morris of Eureka Springs, Ark., pastor of the daughter, officiating, after which interment was made in Huntsville cemetery with Masonic honors.

      Freeman Skaggs, Old Citizen Dies Suddenly at Hindsville
      Freeman M. Skaggs, age 82 years, died suddenly Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Everett Clark of near Hindsville. He had eaten a hearty breakfast, appeared as well as usual and was walking across the yard to do a chore when he fell dead. Heart failure is presumed to have been the cause. Funeral services were conducted by Jerry Simpson at the Baptist church in this city Wednesday afternoon and interment was made in the Huntsville cemetery.
      Mr. Skaggs was one of the best known citizens of the county, of which he was a native and a life long resident. He was born near Huntsville, April 2, 1831. He was married October 22, 1871 to Nancy Jane Adams, who died about 12 years ago. Besides the daughter, Mrs. Clark, with whom he had made his home the past eight years, he is survived by three sons, William C., of Idabell, Okla., Edwin of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Corley of Huntsville. All of whom were present at the funeral; Also surviving him are four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Adair and Mrs. Otto Heflin of St. Louis, MO., Mrs. A. B. Sanders of Webber Falls, Oklahoma and Mrs. Lydia Hudson of Seattle, Wash.

      FUNERAL SERVICES FOR FREEMAN SKAGGS HELD IN HINDSVILLE
      Funeral services for Freeman M. Skaggs, aged 82, father of W.C. Skaggs of the Skaggs Funeral Home of this city, were conducted at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Everett Clark at Hindsville, Ark., today (Wednesday.) Mr. Skaggs, his daughter, Miss Elizabeth Skaggs and his son, William Skaggs, left Idabel Tuesday morning to attend the funeral.
      Mr. Skaggs was born February 27, 1851, and spent his entire life in Madison County, Ark. He is survived by three sons, Mr. Skaggs of Idabel, Erwin Skaggs of Broken Arrow, Corley Skaggs of Huntsville, Ark., and a daughter, Mrs. Clark, with whom he has made his home for the past eleven years since the death of his wife. Survivors also include twenty grand children and several great grand children.
